Holiday Letter

Caravan 8, Seaview Caravan Park, Minehead, Somerset

14th August 2012

Dear Amanda

I am really enjoying our holiday this year. The children are out playing with their new friends so it is an opportune time for me to write to you.

We have been very lucky with the weather and it is as hot as an oven in the caravan unless we open the windows. The sea is a stone's throw away, but the cliffs are precipitous so we have to take the path at the entrance to the caravan site. It is amazing to think that we are able to stay here for a whole fortnight; I could never have afforded it if it wasn't for the bonus that I received from my employer.

It's a shame you cannot join us this year. We miss you, but I know this renovation project is important and you need to take advantage of your annual leave to get as much done as  possible. I look forward to seeing the cottage during the October half-term.

Martin says "Hello" - he is watching a documentary on black bears at the moment; it's nice that he has time to relax at last.

Yesterday we went to Coombe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. Ryan was absolutely fascinated, but Ellie thought it was "boring and babyish" - I hate to think what she will be like next year when she is a teenager. We plan to have a lazy day today, and tomorrow we hope to visit Wookey Hole - Ryan is looking forward to learning more about the witch; Ellie thinks it will be useful for her Geography project.

I'd better go now as the children want me to take them to the beach.

Good luck with the cottage.

Lots of love, Karen
